A Vain Hope

Spread the love

VERSE:
A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save
—Psalm 33:17

THOUGHT:
Seeking security in anything this world has to offer is a vain pursuit. You don’t invest stock in a corporation that’s folding. Likewise, we don’t invest hope in a world that’s decaying. Though we are tempted to rely on that which looks strong in the natural, we must realize that apart from God, its foundation is rotten and week; therefore anyone leaning on whatever the world has to offer will come tumbling down with it.

APPLICATION:
Don’t be led by what seems right in the natural, and don’t look to anything the world has to offer for security. Look to God for anything and everything, for He alone holds the key to deliverance.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, my hope and my trust is in you and you alone. I will not be led by the deception this world has to offer, but will rely on you. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
