VERSE:
Consider Him (Jesus) who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
— Hebrews 12:3
THOUGHT:
Life is full of situations that can make us grow weary and lose heart, making us just want to give up; and God knows this from personal experience. However, by God’s grace, He enables us to rise above them all. We have the same Spirit of God which was in Christ when He endured the cross. If there was anyone in the history of mankind who had the right to be weary and lose heart, it was Christ who undeservingly took upon Himself the shame of the world; yet He didn’t give up. He finished the work He was sent to do.
APPLICATION:
When you feel like losing heart in any situation, meditate on what Christ went through. Consider Christ enduring the cross. Think about the physical, emotional and spiritual battle that He went through. When you do, your situation will seem silly.
PRAYER:
Father, I thank you for enduring the cross for me. I pray that I never grow weary or lose heart, because I have the cross at the forefront of my thinking. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
