Glorifying God, With God’s Provision

Spread the love

VERSE:
(David praying to God) “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
— 1 Chronicles 29:14

THOUGHT:
When is the last time you have really thanked God for the ability to give Him something? Many times when people pray, they ask God for things for themselves; rarely do you hear prayers in which they thank God for the ability to give Him something. It was David’s purpose to get all of the materials ready for God’s temple to be built so the He would be glorified. God is the one who made the provision so that He could be glorified. David was at a loss for words that he was able to be a tool in which God’s glory would be seen.

APPLICATION:
Set your priorities on God’s glory, rather than your consumerism. Make every effort to live your life looking for ways to glorify God, and let your prayers consist of asking God to give you the means which would glorify Him the most.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for all that you have given me. I pray that I could use your provision to bring you glory. I pray that you keep my mind focused on your glory, rather than my fleshly desires. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
