VERSE:
And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

THOUGHT:
Amen! What an amazing truth. This verse has been a source of encouragement and a beacon of hope for many people who have faced tough times, including me. We all know and love this verse; however we often pull it out of its context without reading the verses leading up to it. If you start reading from 4:14, you will quickly realize that this verse is written specifically to those who give. In other words, if you are not a giver, you have no reason to believe that you can stand on this verse.

APPLICATION:
Read Philippians 4:10-19 and ask God to speak to you through His word about the implications for your life of giving financial resources to those in need. Ask God to reveal to you a specific need that you can meet, and joyfully meet it knowing that your needs are already taken care of in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, teach me through your word how to spend and give the resources that you have entrusted to my care. Reveal to me a specific need that I am able to meet, and lead me in a way that I know you are calling me to meet it. I thank you that I can stand on your word which says that you will meet all of my needs according to your glorious riches in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
