VERSE:
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.
— Psalm 67:1-2
THOUGHT:
Look at the “what” and “why” of this passage. First, what were the people of God seeking in verse 1? They were seeking God’s gracious blessing. Second, according to verse 2, why were they seeking God’s gracious blessing? So that His salvation would be known among all nations.
God’s intention was never for His people to become self-indulgent hoarders getting fat off of His blessings while the world who doesn’t know Him goes to hell without ever seeing His glory or hearing His gospel. God’s purpose has always been to bless His people so that His salvation would be known among the nations.
APPLICATION:
Make a list of what God’s blessing looks like in your life. Ask Him to reveal to you ways that you could use His blessings for their intended purpose – making the gospel known to all nations.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, forgive me for hoarding your many blessings in my life while neglecting their original purpose. Show me ways that I could use the things you have blessed me with to extend your glory to the nations, and spread the gospel to those who have never heard it. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
