Grace, Grace

Spread the love

VERSE:
For the grace of God has appeared, with salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age…
—Titus 2:11-12

THOUGHT:
It is so frustrating when I hear people try and justify sin because we are “under grace”. What does this verse say grace does? Grace instructs us to be separate from the world, to avoid sin, and to strive towards holiness and righteousness. God’s grace allows us to see sin for what it truly is, so that we can experience salvation and freedom from the things that have separated us from our God. The grace of God empowers us to live above sin, it doesn’t enable us to live in sin.

APPLICATION:
Do not be an advocate of sloppy grace which promotes licentiousness, but proclaim God’s grace for what it truly is. Encourage those who live in sin to turn from sin, towards God so that they could experience the fullness of His grace; but do this with gentleness and respect.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your grace which has come with salvation, instructing me in the way I need to go. I pray that I could be an example, and an advocate of your grace. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
