He [God] made known His ways to Moses, His deeds to the people of Israel.
— Psalm 103:7
If someone asked you “what is God like” would you be able to give an answer based on firsthand knowledge, or would your answer merely consist of known facts about God. A lot of people know about God, but don’t know God. They know God’s deeds, but God wants us to know His ways. To know God’s ways means to know the heart, the passion, and the purpose behind the deeds. Knowing God’s ways comes only through personal, intimate alone time with God.
In your time with God today, pray that He would show you His ways. Ask Him to reveal His heart, His passion, and His purpose behind His deeds, then open up His holy word and search them out.
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your heart, your passion, and your purpose behind your deeds. I pray that as I grow closer to you, you would help me know your ways more clearly. I pray that my knowledge of you would not be merely facts, but rooted in intimacy. I thank you Jesus for making it possible for me to know your ways… In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
