VERSE:
Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.
Psalm 126:5
THOUGHT:
You either feel the anguish in preparation, or experience the suffering of defeat. Sacrifice is never easy. In fact, if it was easy, it wouldn’t be sacrifice. If we are to be followers of Christ, we are called to give up certain things that we see as valuable, precious, pleasurable or even irreplaceable. However, the loss of something given out of obedience brings a return that we would have never imagined.
APPLICATION:
Think about some of the things that you have been holding on to that you know God would want you to release. It may be money, a valuable possession, an unhealthy (or ungodly) relationship, lust, pride, anger, jealousy, resentment, etc… Whatever it is, trust God and make a sacrifice in faith.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I trust in your word. You said that if I sow in tears, I would reap with songs of joy. I choose to give you those things I know you want me to release, and I do it in faith because you are faithful. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
