VERSE:
But when God, who set me apart from birth and called me by His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man…
— Galatians 1:15-16
THOUGHT:
Notice what the apostle Paul says was the purpose of God revealing His Son in him: “SO THAT I might preach Him among the Gentiles”. I have heard many people say “Christ saved me so that I could spend eternity with Him”… absolutely not! If that were true, why didn’t you get teleported to heaven the instant you believed the gospel? Because Christ didn’t save you to just spend eternity with you; He saved you so that you might take that message of salvation to the ends of the earth and save as many as possible. EVERY Christian is commanded to spread the gospel to the ends of the world; either by going down into the well yourself, or by holding the rope for someone who will.
APPLICATION:
Don’t horde the gift of eternal life to yourself while the world around you containing 4.5 billion people who claim no affiliation with Christ is headed for an eternity in hell. Fulfill the purpose for which you have been saved by preaching Christ among those who don’t have Him.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, show me ways that I can obey your command to make disciples of all nations, within the context of life that you have called me to. Use my calling towards my purpose of spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth. Help me see the urgency of my mission more frequently. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
