They (sinners) think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. But they will have to give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
— 1Peter 4:4
When you decide to live holy, the world is going to look at you like you are crazy or legalistic. It doesn’t make sense that you would want to separate yourselves from the pleasures that they indulge in. They may mock, but they don’t understand that the day is coming to where we must all give account of our lives to God.
Think about what you would want to be doing the moment before you stood in front of Christ. Understand that that moment can be at any time. Before doing something, ask yourself “would I want to be doing this the moment I met Jesus?”
Heavenly Father, keep me holy, keep me separate. When the world thinks it’s strange when I don’t plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, help me to remember that we must all give account to you. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
