Trust God in the Day of Trouble

Spread the love

VERSE:
In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.
— Psalm 86:7

THOUGHT:
Many times commitment is seen in trials. Someone once said “if you want to know a person’s character, don’t look at their actions, but look at their reactions”. When trouble comes, where do you turn? When the road gets rough, who or what will you lean on? We all know the right answer, but is it a reality in our day to day lives? If you are in a bind, will you have faith in God, or will you compromise your integrity to get ahead? Would you tell a “white-lie” if it was a matter of having food to eat, or would you trust God even if it seemed like you were going to starve? True faith is trusting God no matter what, and being unwilling to compromise the tiniest bit no matter how tight of a bind you are in.

APPLICATION:
Search your heart, and take inventory of your life. Ask yourself “have I compromised my integrity at any point in order to get ahead?” Ask yourself if you have been okay with telling a “white-lie”, so long as no one gets hurt. Be honest with yourself, and repent if you have fallen short by not trusting in God in times of trouble.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, search my heart and take inventory of my life. Reveal to me areas in my life where I may have compromised my integrity in order to get ahead. I pray for the faith to trust in you in the day of trouble. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
