VERSE:
By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry. THEN God said to Noah, “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives.”
— Genesis 8:13-16
THOUGHT:
What patience Noah showed! After being cooped up in a stinking ark full of animals for about a year, Noah finally saw that the surface of the ground was dry. Most of us would have just taken that as a sign to get out of the boat and start our new life; however, Noah waited on God. He did not want to get out until God said so. He waited patiently for almost another 2 months until God told him that it was time to get out.
APPLICATION:
Take note from Noah’s life and wait to hear from God before stepping out. Just because something looks good from a human perspective doesn’t mean that it is the right timing in God’s plan for you. Allow God to develop patience in you by waiting on Him even when the timing looks right.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, forgive me for so many times jumping the gun without even consulting with you. Help me to hear from you before stepping out, so that I can know it is in faith. In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN!
